Short Notice Cancellations
Explanation of Wilderness Expeditions Policy regarding short notice cancellations
As our group size is small, short notice cancellations may cause a tour to be not viable, therefore affecting other clients. Consequently Wilderness Expeditions may charge a cancellation fee to cover incurred costs.
We recommend that our clients procure travel insurance as a part of your trip planning should you need to recover costs caused by incurring a cancellation fee.
Our treks normally require a minimum number of passengers to operate. Minimum passenger numbers differ between treks and walks and are subject to change. In circumstances where minimum numbers are not reached, an alternative may be offered, or if a tour is cancelled due to minimum passenger numbers not being achieved, booked passengers will be offered an alternate tour option, or be provided with a full refund.
Booked passengers that initiate a cancellation at short notice may incur the following cancellation fees:
Cancellations received between 9 and 4 days prior to tour departure will incur a cancellation fee of 50% or retention of deposit held to cover outlays
Cancellations received within 2 days of tour departure will incur non refund of deposit held to cover outlays
A refund will not be provided for a no-show, or after a tour has commenced.
Should a tour be curtailed or cancelled due to external circumstances such as a extraordinary weather event, Wilderness Expeditions will provide a pro-rata refund.
